Minnesota’s election system performed extremely well despite the intense pressure that the 2008 election placed on the system. However, the bright spotlight of the Minnesota Senate Recount has allowed us to further examine the election process and identify areas that need reform.

It is essential that legislators and the governor respond to the lessons of the Senate recount so that Minnesota never has to go through such a period of political ambiguity again.

Help us make sure that Minnesota does not repeat the Recount of 2008. Minnesota should not be satisfied with a system in which so many voters have their votes thrown out. We must reform the absentee ballot process and enact early voting to safeguard the integrity of our election process.
